What is the working principle of a magnetic powder clutch?

1、Coil stationary type magnetic powder clutch and magnetic powder brake are automatic devices that control the input current to change the output torque.

2、When the coil is not energized, the input shaft rotates and the magnetic powder is pressed against the inner wall of the clamping ring under the action of centrifugal force, and the output shaft is not in contact with the input shaft.

3、When the coil is energized, the magnetic powder produces a magnetic chain under the action of the magnetic force line, so that the output shaft and the input shaft become a rigid body and rotate, and produce a slip when overloaded, at this time for the working state. Thus, the purpose of torque transmission is achieved.

The magnetic dielectric under the influence of the electromagnetic field undergoes a change in physical properties, and the master and driven parts of the magnetic powder clutch are linked together. The working situation is as follows.

When the electromagnetic loss coil is energized, the magnetic flux forms a dashed closed circuit through the magnetic dielectric (magnetic powder). The magnetic medium in the flowing state starts to solidify in the magnetic field. When the magnetic field strength is large, the magnetic powder almost becomes a solid, while the magnetic powder particles form a magnetic chain between the electromagnet and the driven disk, linking the active disk and the electromagnet together. If the current through the electromagnet coil is larger, then the number of magnetic chains is more and the chain is stronger. When the magnetic chain is large and strong, the magnetic powder clutch has a greater ability to transmit torque. When the current through the solenoid coil reaches a certain value, the magnetic dielectric is sufficient to bring the active and driven parts of the magnetic powder clutch together, and the magnetic powder clutch will stop slipping and the clutch will be fully engaged. When the magnetic field disappears, the magnetic dielectric becomes flowing again, the connection between the master and driven parts of the clutch disappears, and the clutch is separated again.
