The upcoming 21st "interplastica" (www.interplastica.de) trade fair will take place in Moscow / Russia from 23-26 January 2018. Co-organisers Messe Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf / Germany; www.messe-duesseldorf.com) and its subsidiary Messe Düsseldorf Moscow expect around 600 companies to participate, with "strong" participation from Germany, China, Italy, Austria, and Turkey.

INTERPLASTICA is hosted by Messe Düsseldorf, Germany, which has a long-standing reputation in the plastics exhibition industry. It has been successfully held for 21 sessions in 2018. Because of the full support of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Russian Government, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Government, the Moscow Municipal Government, and the Russian Chemical Industry Association, coupled with the mature operation mode and far-reaching market influence of Messe Düsseldorf, INTERPLASTICA has become one of the most influential plastics industry exhibition in the CIS countries.

In addition to the "Polymer Plaza", focused on lightweight and composite products, interplastica will also include the second edition of "3D fab+print Russia", a special show for additive manufacturing. Concurrently to interplastica 2018 will be the "upakovka" processing and packaging trade fair.

According to Germany Trade and Invest, the Russian economy grew in 2017, and GDP is expected to increase by 0.5-2%. Selected sectors that the government is supporting include machinery and automotive construction, aerospace, electronics, IT and telecommunications, chemicals, and mining. Petrochemicals plants are being built to produce intermediate and end products, and improve domestic raw materials supply to Russia's own chemicals industry, with plastics manufacturing and processing benefiting from this.

In the fields of construction, automobile, consumer electronics and packaging closely related to the plastics industry, the Russian market has grown rapidly, so the demand for plastic raw materials and processing equipment continues to maintain strong growth. In recent years, Russia and its neighboring countries have continuously established new plastic processing plants, and their production capacity has continued to expand. These are undoubtedly good news for plastic equipment and plastic raw material suppliers. In the plastic machinery entering Russia, the United States, China, and Germany are among the top three.

According to VDMA, the equipment sold by Germany to Russia in 2007 amounted to 210 million euros, a year-on-year increase of 31%. Local processors are increasingly opting for high-end equipment in order to remain competitive in the market. The plastic machinery that Russia needs to import is focused on small plastic machinery with low unit prices. This provides an outstanding opportunity for the export of such equipment in China. In terms of machine types, injection molding machines, hollow molding machines, vacuum molding machines, plastic extruders, and plastic recycling machines are mainly imported. From the perspective of import methods, it is generally divided into three categories, including purchasing the whole plant equipment, updating equipment, upgrading, and making up equipment for the current production line.

China is already one of the main sources of Russian plastic machinery imports. Domestic plastic machinery enterprises can take advantage of our geographical location to expand the market share of China's plastic-finished, semi-finished, and processing machinery in Russia.
