The 18th Vietnam International Plastics Industry Exhibition will be held at the Ho Chi Minh International Convention and Exhibition Center in Vietnam on October 4-7, 2018. The exhibition was first held in 2000 and is held once a year for a total of 4 days. As a professional representative conference of the plastics industry in the country, V-Plas comprehensively covers the upper, middle and lower reaches of the plastics industry, invites international exhibitors, focuses on the expansion of the exhibition scale and the improvement of quality, and aims to create a more professional and international exhibition for exhibitors.

The exhibition is strongly supported by the Ministry of Trade of Vietnam, the Ministry of Industry of Vietnam, the Ministry of Investment Planning of Vietnam, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environmental Protection of Vietnam, the Vietnam Machinery Association, the Plastics Association, and other government departments and professional associations.

The exhibition attracted more than 520 suppliers from 14 countries around the world, including China, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the Netherlands, Poland, and Thailand, as well as many Vietnamese domestic enterprises. With the huge support of various industry associations, the 2018 Vietnam Plastics and Rubber International Exhibition will be an effective trade promotion event, helping domestic Vietnamese producers to find partners and improve production quality, while helping to provide exhibitors and visitors alike Create more business opportunities.

At present, the output value of Vietnam's plastics industry is growing at an average annual rate of 12%. There are more than 2,000 processing enterprises across the country, employing about 200,000 people. In 2013, the revenue of the whole industry exceeded 9 billion US dollars, but Vietnam's plastic industry is currently facing the challenge of lack of raw materials, and 80% of the raw materials are imported.
In 2013, Vietnam exported more than 2.4 billion US dollars of plastic products, mainly to markets such as Europe, South America, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. Among them, plastic products used for transportation packaging and food packaging accounted for 56%; household plastic products accounted for 10.6%; engineering plastics accounted for 8.2%; construction plastics accounted for 2.1%. At present, there are 151 export markets for plastic products in Vietnam. Among them, the main markets are: Japan, the United States, Germany, Europe, and China. In 2013, Vietnam’s plastics industry’s exports to Japan were US$400 million, an increase of 11.2% year-on-year, accounting for 19.9% of the industry’s total exports; exports to China were US$279 million, an increase of 12.8%, accounting for 14%. China replaced the United States as the third-largest export market for Vietnam's plastics industry.

So far, the total output of plastic products in Vietnam has reached more than 1 million tons, which is a relatively competitive industry in Vietnam. Household plastic products can also beat foreign competitors. 95% of the plastic daily necessities in Vietnam's supermarkets are produced in Vietnam (the proportion of At present, nearly 100% of the raw materials required for food packaging, various beverage packaging, clean mineral water packaging, aquatic seafood packaging, etc. can be produced in Vietnam. At present, many Vietnamese plastic companies have begun to enter the export market and invested in the introduction of high-tech equipment. For example, Longcheng Company invested in the production technology of four-color printing beer boxes, Datong Jin Company invested in high-tech equipment such as film lamination, and Liksin Company blown PE composite Thin film technology, etc. Vietnam's plastics industry can still only provide general household plastic products, and it still needs to continue to invest in the future. According to the Vietnam Plastics Corporation, the future investment of Vietnam's plastics industry will require about 2 billion US dollars.

In recent years, the continuous increase of Taiwanese investment in Vietnam has added business opportunities for plastic-related production equipment such as injection machinery. In recent years, Vietnam's economy has developed rapidly and people's consumption level has also improved. The demand for plastic products for general plastic consumer goods and industrial building materials has gradually increased. The market share of plastic building materials such as casements, advanced electric power, automobile cooling systems, locomotives, and electronic and telecommunication plastic parts has also gradually increased.
