As the largest event in the petrochemical and plastics industry in West Asia, the Iran International Plastics Exhibition was first held in 2002 under the initiative of the National Iranian Petrochemical Company, aiming to promote the domestic plastics industry market, promote global marketing, and global market promotion. The exhibition is currently the most influential professional exhibition in the plastics industry in Iran, and has become a trading platform for exchanging technology, promoting development, and achieving a win-win situation in this field.

Iran's petrochemical industry has extremely favorable conditions, such as abundant and cheap resources, important geographical locations, complete ports and public facilities, preferential policies in national taxation, and competitive human resources. According to Iran's petrochemical industry development plan, it is expected that by 2018, the production capacity of Iran's petrochemical products will reach 65 million tons, with an output value of more than 20 billion US dollars, of which the production capacity of polymer and plastic products will reach 11 million tons. At present, Iran's polymer output is only 800,000 tons, and the processing capacity of plastic products is only 1 million tons per year. It can be seen that the Iranian plastics processing industry, which is in its infancy, will enter into a period of rapid growth with the successful commissioning of large-scale petrochemical plants in the next few years. The production capacity of its plastics industry will now account for 0.5% of the world's total. increased to 3.8%.

This year's plastic exhibition was held at the Tehran International Exhibition Center. Nearly 300 local plastic enterprises were arranged in three exhibition halls, No. 31, No. 35, and No. 37, according to the mechanical classification.
